The use of underfloor heating for stone as you probably know, dates back to Roman times where it was used extensively on flooring by means of hot water or warm air passing underneath.

The same method was also used to pass warm air through wall ducts to provide a comfortable room temperature.

I'm sure it wasn't quite as easy then to throw a few metres of stone on the back of your cart and do a job, nevertheless this is where all of our ideas stem from to have a comfortable yet durable floor that is 'warm'.

Stone comes to us from all parts of the world now and to be quite honest, most of what's available is great for underfloor heating. Certain fixing methods need to be observed using underfloor heating for stone but leaves us with few limitations.
