Underfloor Heating For Bathrooms

We used to find it in the best hotels,once only for the rich and famous or 'those who could afford it', butall that's changed with the underfloor heating kits availabletoday.

This is something that is now beingoffered for bathrooms in all good tile shops, DIY outlets and mail order.

You see the underfloor heating for your bathroom is only one half of the installation, the other half is how you retain the heat when the system's up and running.

With electric underfloor heating this isdone in many ways:-

Marmox boards, for under tile heating.
Depron, for under laminate and wood.
Marmox, Kingspan or polystyrene, for deeper insulating.

All of these do a specific job and withoutthem you're heating the underside of your flooring as well as the sub-floor itself. The result is wasted heat and your heating bills become so high that you switch it off.

Your bathroom will never be as comfortable as it should be, unless you have a COMPLETE installation with the correct insulation being fitted.

What's the answer?

When you install ANY heating system, especially for your bathroom design, always look at how the heat is retained, which increases comfort and greatly reduces the running cost.
When this is done correctly it's minimal at the time of installing and without, it can be costly.

Underfloor heating for bathrooms when done correctly means comfort, minimum running costs AND is run independently of your existing heating.

The different types of bathroom flooring that's available will be suited to the appropriate heating system and generally installed in 1 -2 days with no further maintenance necessary.

The majority of underfloor heating for bathrooms is accompanied by tiles, which I would advise be 'porcelain'. This type of tile differs to ceramic in as much as the finish looks the same as all others, except the structure is normally a through colour, is extremely hard wearing and will last as long as your heating system.

Underfloor heating for bathrooms will betrouble free for years and only then changed to possibly update your bathroom, so don't be fooled into saving cost on your installation, you're only going to do it once, so do it right.
