Tiling on wood, how can this best be achieved!

Tiling on wood floors carried out in the right way will last for years without any defect, assuming the correct tile adhesive and grout is used, incorporating a proven uncoupling system such as
"Ditra matting specifically used for tiling on wood".

When you tile on wood it will be necessary to take the extra precaution of allowing for expansion and contraction of the floor below, which inevitably "cracks" on the joints or in some cases even the tiles themselves, without suitable preparation.

Even the best tiling companies fail to make the tiling installation 100% strong in every way by tiling on to wood without substantially preparing for even minimal movement after completion.

The worst case scenarios are when tiling on to wood with bathroom floor tiles, where expensive sanitary ware is fitted onto potentially defective floors, resulting in a lot of work to put things right. Tiling companies who have made these mistakes rarely put there hands up to admit the fault!
