Patio Cleaning

For patio cleaning to be totally effective it must be completed in 3 key stages:

• Bio degradable 'chemical dirt release' applied
• Hot or cold power washing
• Seal to protect

Power washing patios, block paving, driveways etc with water only will remove a large percentage of dirt, however, soiling and moss spores remain in the surface and must be removed for the cleaning to be 100% effective .

Moss and algae in particular, unless eradicated, will return to spread again fairly quickly unless treated. If this were only cleaned with water it remains 'in' the surface of patios and paving.

The cost is minimal to pre clean patios, taking about 20 minutes however, the effect is much better than using water alone. This we see around the home as we use a soap or something similar to wash everything, 'even ourselves'!

Whenever necessary hot power washing is used for a deep clean particularly where soiling has been apparent for long periods and where moss and algae have been prevalent for some time.

The degree of power washing is gauged to remove dirt only and not affect jointing between the paving slabs or sand between block paving.

In some cases this will be unavoidable but can be replenished quite easily for long term effect. This is completed at the time of cleaning and considerably adds to the strength and stability.

When the patio cleaning is complete, it would be ok to leave it in it's raw state or better still, protect it to give the surface a much longer life.

Two treatments will ensure that your patio remains in the best possible condition for years and the first is to seal the patio , preventing further soiling and staining.

These sink into the surface, repel anything off the face, which doesn't change the traction in any way and have no change to the appearance or can be enhanced to show the full colour of the paving.

The second treatment is to lightly spray the surface with a moss and algae repellent that protects very effectively . This can be re applied once or twice a year, is safe for pets and children and not only looks clean but 'is clean'.
