Laminate flooring
Laminate flooring is now a household term and is often seen as a cleaner and fresher alternative to carpet and less costly than a wooden floor, also laminate tiles are becoming even more popular which offer a great mix of laminate and tiles in one product, extremely durable and will last many years under normal conditions.
The ranges that we install from Quick Step, Pergo and Balterio to name a few, cover just about any wood design and patterns in an easy to clean and maintain finish.
As suppliers and fitters of a varied range of laminates we would advise against cheap laminate floors as these carry many problems, unless used lightly which goes against the idea of having a tough durable floor that's a replacement for carpets and vinyl.
When choosing
laminate flooring to fit over underfloor heating
check whether it's compatible and ensure that the underlay used is acceptable for both the laminate AND the underfloor heating.
We can offer this as part of a package with our installations providing you with a very comfortable and cost effective means of heating.
It doesn't matter if you want Oak, Beech, Maple, Birch, Ash or Cherry the laminate is structured the same way whichever wood design you prefer.
Your choice of laminate should always be reccomended for its use such as in bathrooms and utility rooms especially where moisture is present.
The 'planks' will be made of a different base material for 'wet' areas as opposed to general use around the home.
It doesn't become 'waterproof' simply 'moisture resistant' and it will be necessary to remove any spills within a reasonable time to comply with guarantees.
Always check manufacturers instructions.
Clic flooring as it's sometimes referred to can be installed in the minimum of time without causing any disruption.
The more demanding laminate flooring installations will require some expertise especially when 'undercut saws' are used around door frames and compressed air nailers are needed for fitting scotias and beading (the strips around the edge).
There are new laminates being introduced such as black finishes, gloss and different textures that when fitted in the right surroundings are an equal match for tiling, vinyl flooring and wooden floors.
Whatever type of laminate flooring you want we'll be pleased to advise you of the right flooring for your home.
Whether you want to buy the laminate flooring off me and install yourself or you want a price for me to fit, I'll call anywhere in a 20 mile radius of Newport and work everything out for you, leaving you with a fixed free quotation.
Mike says
"My initial introduction to laminate flooring in 1996 was for a company that asked me to repair cock-ups that so called 'tradesmen' had completed for them.
After rectifying these jobs AND getting recommends for more work my first reaction was to reject the idea of continuing with laminate as it was new to me and the only jobs I'd seen weren't very good..how wrong could I be!
Since those early days I've found some great suppliers and the range and quality of laminates 'amazes me'.
Needless to say the success I've had and for the company has been great. This is one product that will definitely stay with us."
