The good thing about kitchen tiling is that it can take on just about any form in design, size and style for both walls and floors.

There really doesn't seem to be many exceptions to the type of tile you use, although the floor tiles should be fairly robust and the tiling grout be of a good quality to take the high traffic you would expect.

Tiles can be made to feel a lot more comfortable with the addition of underfloor heating which makes the kitchen tiling more appealing especially in colder climates.

Porcelain would be one of my first choices for longevity AND looks, with ceramics and natural stone being equally as attractive.

One thing to look out for is the type of tiling adhesive to use where quality and cost shouldn't be compromised due to the amount of knocks and bumps the flooring will take over the years.
