The method of cleaning driveways will depend on how the driveway has been treated in the past if at all, or whether any sealants have been applied to the surface.

Our methods include:

Hot pressure washing - Mostly used on external areas, this removes maximum dirt and bacteria off your drive resulting in a very clean finish to block paving, that might need further treatment with steam or possibly chemical cleaning to remove paint, rust or staining.

Cold pressure washing - Mainly used on open areas that would normally be soiled or dirty from long term wear and tear on the surface, this type of driveway cleaning results in a ready to seal state that will repel further soiling and staining.

Chemical cleaning - Used frequently on driveways to remove all manner of staining and long term dirt deposits. The majority of chemicals are alkaline and do not affect surfaces when used correctly resulting in many decades of soiling removed without any change to the substrate. Sealing can be applied as soon as surfaces are dry, protecting long term and easy to maintain.

Increasingly we are asked to clean algae off driveways and patios that once established are hard to remove even with pressure washing.

We are able to remove the algae with harmless chemical treatments that prevent regrowth leaving your driveways, patios and block paving as good as new.

With our damp climate this is a recurring problem for many, however, cleaning algae, moss and lichen is easily achievable and with the correct maintenance programme can be eradicated effectively.

Steam cleaning - Releases a multitude of surface stains and dirt where possible and when the dirt is removed promptly, leaves a clean hygienic surface ready to seal once dry.

Sealing

Cleaning driveways will benefit from being sealed on completion of the cleaning process, protecting surfaces from becoming affected by further dirt and staining.

A seal will come in 2 basic types, those that penetrate the surface to protect, or those that are applied onto and adhere to the surface to repel in much the same way. These are known as 'sit in' or 'sit on' protectors.

Restoration

Restoration can be as little as replacing the occasional block, repairing jointing or making good to larger areas maintaining the basic structure of your drive. The borders and edges must be kept in good order to maintain strength and stability.
