Bathroom Tiling and best fitting methods

Bathroom tiling is an area where you need to take caution where "water" is ever present.

The tiles used for bathroom tiling generally used would be ceramic, porcelain and mosaic although natural stone options such as travertine, slate and marble can be used when sealed.

Glass tiles are also becoming popular but need to be cut using professional tiling equipment and be fixed with glass adhesive and flexible grout.

Also great care must be taken when fitting cubicles and glass shower doors as I've personally been called to rectify some disasters caused by unwitting professional tilers, who have caused damage by fitting tiles incorrectly.

One important area is tiling onto wooden floors where the fitting of "Ditra matting" is important, to eliminate the floor cracking either across the tiles or through the joints. TAKE A LOOK AT THIS SHORT VIDEO.

When fitting in enclosures or showers a tanking system should be incorporated to ensure that no passage of moisture is allowed to permeate through the tiles and grout, to cause damage to the walls behind.
